Born and bred on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Luke spent most of his upbringing surfing at Freshwater Beach and playing Rugby League for his local team.
After attending Harbord Public School, Luke moved to The Scots College in Bellevue Hill for his high schooling. Scots offered Luke a plethora of activities, both in the classroom and on the sports field.
Luke seized the opportunity to entertain, perform and learn the finer points of acting by studying Drama in Year 11 and for his HSC in 2007. As well as studying Drama in the classroom, Luke also took part in Drama as a co-curricular activity. Eventually becoming a Year 12 mentor for the younger students taking part in the course.
An offer to audition for the Australian miniseries ‘Out of the Blue’ in late 2007, left Luke wanting more opportunities to perform.
The opportunity came when Luke was asked back to the casting agent to audition for new role of troubled teen Trey Palmer in the long running soap opera ‘Home and Away’. Jumping at the chance, Luke was cast as Trey after one audition and soon started what he thought would be a 15 week stint on the show. Very pleased with Luke’s early work, the producers extended his contract on the show to 6 months.
Luke took the part on board and was able to bring excitement and truth to this challenging and complex character.
2010 will see Luke tackle his second television role as Aaron in the new ABC drama ‘Dance Academy’.
Mark Morrissey & Associates are thrilled to be representing this talented young performer, and we can’t wait to see what the future brings him.
